WIN A YEAR'S SUPPLY OF BRIDGESTONE BALLS
Two people will get their hands on 12 dozen all-new e12 Speed or e12 Soft golf balls
Bridgestone’s golf balls have been going great guns on tour in 2019; Tiger Woods, Bryson DeChambeau, Matt Kuchar and Lexi Thompson have all racked up wins with them.
But the brand realise – thanks to 350,000 golf ball ttings over the last 12 years – that tour balls aren’t the best option for all golfers. So Bridgestone have launched two new e12 golf balls for 2019. As both are aimed at club golfers, we’ve teamed up to give two readers the chance to win a year’s supply (12 dozen) worth over £347 each.
Both e12 balls are three-piece models with Surlyn covers, and they’re optimised to reduce side spin and improve accuracy.
The real story with e12, though, is how Bridgestone have deviated from traditional thinking that the core is the engine of the ball and produces the speed. Bridgestone have come up with a denser chemical compound which is used in the layer between the core and the cover as a secondary engine; Bridgestone call it a “turbo booster”.
And because the new design doesn’t rely solely on the core for speed, it means engineers have softened the ball a little to give feel levels unexpected in a Surlyn-covered ball. Along with a delta-wing dimple pattern it all adds up to a ball that’s fast, long, accurate and feels great.
Bridgestone insist on optimising balls based on swing speeds, so e12 Speed is aimed at golfers who swing above 105mph (with a driver), while e12 Soft is for swing speeds below 105mph.
